What's the difference between strands and streams?

There are three streams; Children's Ministry, Youth Ministry and Rising Leaders.
Each have 2 or 3 strands within them. A strand takes a week to finish.

What's the difference between children's ministry strand groups and youth ministry strand groups?

If you're in a children's ministry strand group, you will learn about the presentation and packaging of Bible studies and Bible talks for children rather than youth.

The children's ministry stream workshops will cater to issues in children's ministry rather than youth ministry.

Is every option available each year?

Each of the 8 options are available both weeks of every year.

What are the options again?

i. Rising Leaders Strand 1
ii. Rising Leaders Strand 2 (new from 2011)

iii. Children's Ministry Strand 1
iv. Children's Ministry Strand 2
v. Children's Ministry Strand 3 (new from 2011)

vi.. Youth Ministry Strand 1
vii. Youth Ministry Strand 2
viii. Youth Ministry Strand 3

Can I do Children's Ministry Strand 1 this year then Youth Ministry Strand 2 next year?

Yes, however we suggest you stick to one stream (Youth Ministry OR Children's Ministry) for the three years for the maximum benefit.

Do I need to pass an exam at the end of the week to progress to the next strand next year?

No

Who is Rising Leaders For?

Rising leaders is for the keen Christian who is in Year 10 or 11 and is involved in, or interested in, Christian leadership. It will be a great week, a little lighter than our other streams, full of learning and meeting people as you are further equipped for Christian leadership. This stream will consist of 2 strands (the second will be introduced in January 2011), and you can then choose either the Youth or Children's ministry streams.

This exciting development now means that a church's whole leadership team, Youth and Children's ministry, present and future leaders, can be trained at one conference.

If I've missed a year can I still continue through the strands?

Yes
